Norman thrown off by rumours of his future

The Parramatta star addressed the speculation of his future with the Eels.

Corey Norman has insisted he hasn’t spoken to his manager about leaving the Eels at the end of the season, despite current suggestions otherwise. The off-contract star previously denied rumours he was unhappy at the club this year; but his name has resurfaced again as a potential option for either Manly or Newcastle as early as 2019. “That’s the first time I’ve heard of it. I’m more worried about getting us off the bottom of the table rather than worrying about myself,” Norman told nrl.com. “That’s football. That’s what happens all the time. I can only control what I do out on the paddock and that’s what I’m willing to do. “It’s all been tossed around in the media. But I’m just about getting this team off the bottom and having a good back half of the year. “Your guess is as good as mine (where it’s come from) to be honest.” The Eels this season have endured horror setbacks; three wins and twelve losses have made for a disappointing year so far, with Norman slingshotted around the backline constantly. Despite their position at 16th, Parramatta are 6-0 over the Telstra Premiership leaders from their past six meetings. “We need to play for the full 80 and we need to play for each other. We need to put a bit of pride back in that jersey and start stringing some wins together,” Norman added.
