Broncos fullback Darius Boyd wants his club to stick with Wayne Bennett as head coach, following Craig Bellamy’s re-signing with the Storm.
Bennett, who has said he has no desire to stop coaching, is off-contract at the end of the 2019 season, but will detail his future plans to the Broncos’ board on June 27, following the tug-of-war loss of Bellamy.
Bennett turns 69 next year but has no plans to stop coaching the Broncos, and captain Darius Boyd told Fox Sports the club shouldn’t look for another option.

“Wayne has been a big part of my career on and off the field,” Boyd told Fox Sports.
“I’d like to see him stay on. If he’s got the passion and the drive to do it, it would be silly to let him go.
“As a player, as the captain and someone who has been with Wayne my whole career – and I know the boys feel the same way – we would love to see Wayne stay around.”
Boyd was quick to dismiss reports that Bennett has lost touch with his players after 25 seasons with the Broncos and 32 years of coaching in the NRL.
“Wayne has definitely got a contract for next year which is pleasing. I know the boys love having him around,” Boyd said.
“If you come to work wanting to do better and get the best out of yourself and your team I think there is no reason why he should be giving it away.”
